Irish EuroMillions player scoops incredible €175m jackpot at Dunnes shopping centre

AN Irish EuroMillions player has scooped a massive jackpot of €175million tonight.

The huge jackpot has been rolling over since the €120m mega draw on Friday February 1.

In the main EuroMillions draw, the numbers pulled tonight were 1, 8, 18, 19, 39 and lucky stars 7 and 9.

And in the Ireland-only Plus draw – where punters can win up to €500,000, the numbers drawn were 10, 13, 29, 41 and 50.

Last Tuesday’s draw saw big Irish wins – as one punter scooped the top EuroMillions Plus prize of €500,000 and two more players landed over €293,000.

Two punters nabbed €293,221 each in the Match 5 + 1 Stars.

And Lotto chiefs confirmed the winning EuroMillions Plus ticket was sold at the Newsround shop in the Dunnes Shopping Centre in Tullamore – the fourth EuroMillions Plus to be won in Ireland so far in 2019.

Shop owner Ian Kelly said: “There is some great excitement in Tullamore this morning and the staff at the shop have been spreading the good news to our customers, encouraging them all to check their tickets.”

Earlier this month, the Tuesday EuroMillions draw was lucky for Donegal farmer Charlie Meehan – who landed €500,000 on the EuroMillions Plus.

But despite winning the huge sum, the 84-year-old said he has already won the Lotto before after overcoming cancer.

Charlie, from Carrick in Drumoghill, bought his ticket at Barclay’s Newsagent in Raphoe.

And Ireland had its newest millionaire last Friday when a punter struck gold in the Daily Million draw.

The player successfully matched six numbers and the bonus number to take home the top prize.
